In order for everyone to have a fair chance to sing their favorite song,  Your karaoke host keeps a rotation with the request slips submitted.

Being ready when your name comes up.

Listen for your name to be called.  Keeping an ear open for your name will help keep the rotation moving and prevent the other singers from having to wait.

Following microphone etiquette

Don't swing the mic by the cord -- breaks the wires inside and causes shorts.

Don't scream into the mic -- your audience won't appreciate it.

Don't point the mic at the speaker -- it causes that obnoxious feedback screech.

Hold the mic by shank not the head -- your voice will sound more full.

Check to see the mic is turned on -- this helps your audience hear you singing.

Applauding for ALL the other singers.

The Golden Karaoke Rule:  "Applaud unto others as you'd have others applaud unto you."  Remember, everyone wants to hear the crowd clapping for them and their performance.
